Iona

Iona is one of Western Europe’s most historic and spiritual destinations. Its history begins in AD 563, when St Columba arrived from Ireland and founded a monastery that became a centre for the spread of Christianity throughout Scotland and beyond. As a car-free island (visitors leave their vehicles on Mull), Iona encourages peaceful exploration by foot or bicycle.
